About me
Hi, I’m Marcus Tyler. A wildlife photographer based in Perth, Scotland, with a lifelong passion for the natural world and a camera in hand to help tell its stories.
My journey into photography began during the 2021 COVID-19 lockdowns. With extra time and a growing desire to connect with nature in a deeper way, I picked up a phone and a spotting scope and started teaching myself the art of photography. Captivated by wildlife documentaries and inspired by the powerful images I saw others capture, I decided to give it a try and I haven’t looked back since.
In October 2021, I bought my first camera and dove headfirst into learning the craft. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of having my work featured by the BBC and in local Scottish publications. Milestones that truly humbled me and only fueled my drive to keep improving and exploring.
Wildlife photography, for me, is about more than just getting the shot. It’s about patience, presence, and the thrill of witnessing nature on its own terms. I’m always chasing new adventures, whether it’s a quiet moment with a red squirrel in local woodland or a dramatic sky over a loch, and I hope my images spark a deeper appreciation for the wild beauty that surrounds us.
Looking ahead, I aim to take my work further afield, documenting new environments, encountering new species, and expanding both my portfolio and my understanding of the natural world.
If you're someone who loves wildlife, values authenticity, and appreciates the quiet magic of nature, I’d love for you to join me on this journey. Let’s capture something amazing together.
